Second Circular Letter
May 2014
Dear colleagues,
we have received a number of responses to our first circular letter, and some of you have already registered and/or sent their abstracts. In this letter we would like to remind those of you who have not yet registered nor sent their 300 word abstracts to do so by 31st May via the conference website exclusively.
You can book a hotel online, we have pre-selected rooms in various hotels: http://tietzesymposium.univie.ac.at/travel-arrangements/hotel-booking.
The conference fee of EUR 100,-- can be paid either online by credit card during the online registration process. If you select payment via money transfer, you will receive a separate invoice after registration (http://tietzesymposium.univie.ac.at/registration).
We are organizing an excursion by bus on Thursday, 17th July to the small town of Pöchlarn on the Danube, where we will visit the museum of Oskar Kokoschka, prominent 20th-century Austrian painter, who was well-acquainted with the Tietze family, both Andreas Tietze's parents and himself. Pöchlarn is a medieval city set in the picturesque landscape of Wachau, one of Austria's best wine growing regions along the Danube.
We will have a lunch break at Melk, which is famous for its monastery.
Subsequently we will take a boat ride on the Danube from Melk to Krems and come back to Vienna by bus around 5.00 pm.
The cost of the excursion, lunch excluded, will be about EUR 80,- per person, depending on the number of participants. Please indicate if you wish to take part in the excursion when you register online by 31st May.
In the evening of Wednesday 16th July you will be invited to a Heuriger. We ask those of you who wish to participate also to sign up during the online registration by 31st May.
